Software and Apps to manage your workload, time and productivity
Despite being a die hard lover of pens, paper and whiteboards, I do get asked a lot about what apps are out there to make life in the workplace easier and reduce the stressful burden of having too much to do.
So, I’ve listed out some of the main apps that I’ve come across for prioritisation, planning, collaboration with others, focusing your mind, tracking time, managing meetings, projects and programmes, amongst others. This is by no means a comprehensive list, as there are literally THOUSANDS of apps that you can use to help you, but it would be impossible for me to list them all out, so I’ve just gone with some of the main ones. I’ve highlighted those that have free forever plans too, in case you’re looking for productivity enhancements without spending a fortune.
Remember to check-in with yourself first about what exactly you hope to achieve by using a tool. There is a time and a place for technology when it comes to being more productive, and it’s only once you’ve mastered the basics of prioritisation, preparation, delegation, working smartly and continuously reviewing your work that a tool will really become useful to you.
